To relieve the endless coldness that lay upon the land, Fire hawk raced across the sea in pursuit of the sun with the intent to grab a piece of its hot fire and bring this warmth back to his people. The heat from this ball of fire was so intense that it melted his beak which has marked him forever, for his once proud, strong, straight beak remains curved as you see it today. The sun mask represents that fireball and the warmth it brought to the people.
