Ski views take my breath away, and I loved the idea of exploring the depths of a scene like this through variations of blue. This piece has a wonderful play between the graphic quality of the chairlift lines and the organic shapes of the landscape. And now you're itching to get out there for some turns, right?!

Flat Light Luxury

It's hard not to get excited on the chairlift when a flat light day keeps serving up deep powder turns. I love how this grayscale landscape is accented by the dark lines of the chairlift and pops of color from the stoked skiers and boarders ahead. Every day on the slopes is the best day!

You know you're about to have an epic ski day when you look up and see the famous Aspen gondolas overhead. I love the bulbous shape, and it's fun to paint the gondolas against various sky conditions and colors. This piece is a celebration of the iconic experience that is Aspen Mountain.

Twilight on the Slopes

The juxtaposition of manmade chairlifts against the rugged mountain landscape inspires me, and I wanted to explore the lines of a dark chairlift in silhouette. I had fun playing with the angles and balance in this piece, and added a vibrant sunset over the distant peaks beyond. This painting communicates the tranquility and awe of Aspen's incredible evening light shows.
